Meet Tyler!🌎
Tyler is our world traveler! If you are looking for the best long-term travel stories he is your guy.
Once when he was sleeping in the Amazon, his camp become surround by hundreds of wild boar. His group had to climb up trees to wait them out before taking off running down the trail! Another time, while he was backpacking in Alaska, he slept on the Polychrome Glacier in Denali, almost 50 miles from the nearest civilization. For more stories. . . stop in and find Tyler!
Tyler also is a surfer, climber, and scuba diver. He has gone diving with Hammerhead Sharks in the Galapagos islands; he has caught waves in Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Lake Michigan, Nicaragua, and more!
It’s fitting that Tyler’s favorite product at Wanderlust is the MSR PocketRocket. According to Tyler and tested during his travel, the PocketRocket gives you a good meal anywhere you go. His go to camp meal is ramen with veggies and a hardboiled egg, finished off with PocketRocket s’mores.
Meet Joe! 🌞
When he’s not helping people find their new favorite adventure gear, there’s a chance you’ll find Joe on the disc golf course!
Joe’s favorite outdoor adventures are a combo of quality time with the people he loves and the beauty of Michigan. Highlights include introducing his kiddos to the nature up north and kayaking excursions all around the great lakes state. He highly recommends taking a kayak tour of Pictured Rocks, ideally with some of your closest friends!
Along with disc golfing and kayaking, Joe enjoys camping, paddle boarding, and just about anything else that involves chilling out in the sun!
One of his favorite products at Wanderlust, the Nemo Stargaze Reclining Camp chair, is PERFECT for relaxing in the sunshine. He also loves the Nemo Double Haul Duffel’s which hold everything he needs for a trip up north!
Meet Justin! 🏕
If you’ve ever been curious about hammock camping, you need to talk to Justin! As our resident hammock enthusiast, he can help you with all thing’s hammock camping – from gear recs to tips and tricks.
For Justin, camping is a family affair. Every year his whole family gets together to organize a camping trip. These family adventures make up some of his favorite outdoor memories. He also likes to get out and explore the state with his buddies, checking out cool spots like the Manistee River Trail.
When he’s not camping, Justin likes to spend time outside hunting and fishing!

Meet Brie! 🚣
Brie loves to kayak! If you’re looking for local kayaking recommendations, Brie’s got you covered.
While kayaking is usually a pretty relaxing experience, Brie has also had some less than relaxing kayaking journeys. Once while kayaking with a friend from the river out to the lake, an unexpected storm rolled in. Suddenly surrounded by huge waves and other boats that definitely could NOT see them, Brie and company had to be towed back home. That all sounds pretty scary, although Brie assures us that she finds it funny in hindsight.
In addition to kayaking, Brie loves to swim, enjoy a casual hike, and surf when visiting New Jersey!

Meet Jaylynn! 🏖
Born and raised steps from Lake Huron, Jaylynn’s happy place is on the beach. As a recent West Michigan transplant, after much deliberation, she admits she prefers Lake Michigan just a little more. (Sorry Lake Huron!)
Being by the water is so relaxing to her that she once slept for five hours in full sun by the Mediterranean. She blames being very, VERY jet lagged after a 13-hour flight. To be fair, this flight also happened to be her first flight ever. To atone for the sun damage of her college years, she’s now a BIG fan of mineral SPF and UPF clothing. Ask her for recommendations!
When she’s not at the beach you can find her hiking with her husband, dog, and her sketchbook in tow.

Meet Wren! 🐦
When asked to name her favorite outdoor activities, Wren responded with birding, birding, and MORE birding!
For avid birders like Wren, spotting a species for the first time means you can add it to your life list – the list of all of the species of bird seen by a person in their lifetime. Wren’s favorite outdoor memory is adding a particular species – the Canada Jay – to this list. While the Canada Jay’s are adorable, what made this addition to the life list SO memorable was the life event it happened during – Wren’s wedding on Mt. Hood!
When not birding, Wren does love getting out for a casual hike or hanging on the beach in her favorite Wanderlust items – a pair of Patagonia Baggies and an Outdoor Research ActiveIce hoody!
