It's pretty warm, here's a few gripes and likes: 1. Wool hairs shed through the outer shell quite a bit. So much shedding that it looks like I have pets, but I have no pets. The hairs will stick out partially on the shell. A lint roller doesn't work, you have to pluck them individually by hand. Wool hairs do not shed through the inner lining, only the outside shell. At night, or in the low winter daylight of Seattle, you can't see the hairs poking through the shell very well, but when you're inside or anywhere with enough light, the hairs sticking out of the shell are obvious. 2. Slightly baggy fit. Layers well with a sweater, but baggy with a just a shirt. 3. Drapes down long, so if you need to get into your pants pockets you have to yank the jacket up. 4. Waist cinch cord has too much extra bungee that it sticks out and snags on things, you can sort of fold the cinch mechanism underneath so it doesn't stick out, but walking and moving will have it sticking out again. You can see the waist cinch in the product photos clearly, in-person this is a bit longer. No I didn't get a size too large for me. The chest and arms are great. I can move my arms without the sleeves riding up. The elastic cuffs are almost perfect, but not quite a tight enough elastic pinch- a breeze still gets in through the gap. It's really a belay jacket totally designed for climbing, with pockets in the normal comfy position rather than higher up (and unusable for putting your hands in your pockets) like most belay designs. It's ok for high 30's - 50's. It's not warm enough for below 32F, either as a mid-layer or a shell, and the bagginess makes it almost impossible as a mid-layer. The scuba hood is ok for wind but rain hits you right in the face. Personally, I'm tired of down and synthetic - I like what Salewa is doing with wool.
