I got these pants when I need some extras for a long trip to Glacier NP. I love that these aren't as baggy as many women's hiking pants. Also, you can cinch the cuffs up to a capri-ish length if you need to. Not quite convertibles, but it helps with water crossings or on hot days. I do find these run long and slim. I purchased one size up from what I where everywhere else and got the short inseam. Due to the design, they wouldn't be straightforward to hem.
